The Association to Preserve African American Society, History and Tradition, Inc. is applying for $1,000,000 in funds to be received through a Florida African-American Cultural & Historical (AACH) Grant administered by the Florida Department of State with federal funds received through the American Rescue Plan Act. Through approval of this Agreement, should the Association to Preserve African American Society, History and Tradition, Inc. be successful in obtaining the AACH grant funding, the CRA will provide $150,000 in funding towards the rehabilitation and renovation of the Wells House and Wells’ Built Museum, two historic properties within the Parramore area of the Downtown CRA Area. The rehabilitation of these local historic landmark aligns with the CRA Redevelopment Plan goals of honoring historic assets and encouraging the rehabilitation and stabilization of historic buildings.

Approving Funding Agreement with the Association to Preserve African American Society, History and Tradition, Inc. in substantially the form attached, providing $150,000 in funding from the Community Redevelopment Agency to be used as matching grant funds if the Association to Preserve African American Society, History, and Tradition, Inc. is awarded an African American Cultural & Historical Grant for the renovation and rehabilitation of the Wells House and Wells’ Built Museum, and authorizing the Chair and Executive Director to execute the Agreement, subject to review and approval of the City Attorney’s Office.
