Subject:Ordinance No. 2021-62 Amending the City’s Growth Management Plan (GMP) to Change the Future Land Use Map Designation of the Parcel with ID (29-22-24-4514-02-000) from MUC-HIGH and MUC-MED to PUB-REC-INST; and at 503 Brookhaven from MUC-MED to MUC-HIGH; and to Create Subarea Policies S.13.9 and S.14.19. Summary:

The subject property is generally located at the intersection of Alden Road and Virginia Drive, north of Brookhaven Drive and west of Ferris Ave. consisting of ±3.714 acres. The ordinance will the change the future land use map designation of the parcel with ID (29-22-24-4514-02-000) from MUC-HIGH and MUC-MED to PUB-REC-INST; and at 503 Brookhaven from MUC-MED to MUC-HIGH; and to create Subarea Policies S.13.9 and S.14.19 for the development plan of the entire site.

The proposed development is a mixed-use project comprised of 265 multi-family units, associated parking garage, 24,100 sq. ft. commercial and a park for public use. An agreement for the park space is on this same agenda.

The Municipal Planning Board (MPB) recommended approval of the associated cases (GMP2021-10007; GMP2021-10008 and GMP2021-10009) on July 20, 2021, with council subsequently approving the meeting minutes on August 23, 2021. First reading of this ordinance was approved by City Council on November 8, 2021.

Recommended Action:

Adopting Ordinance No. 2021-62 and authorizing the Mayor and City Clerk to execute on behalf of the City upon final review and approval by the City Attorney.
