Subject:Phase II Guaranteed Maximum Price Amendment to Construction Manager at Risk Agreement with Barton Malow Builders for Camping World Stadium Improvements, RFP20-0002
Summary:

On December 9, 2019, City Council approved the Advisory Committee’s ranking and authorized the Chief Procurement Officer to negotiate with the top ranked firm, Barton Malow Builders, to provide Construction Manager at Risk Services for the Camping World Stadium Improvements project. At that time, City Council also approved a pre-construction services agreement to assist in design and construction planning in the amount of $95,000.  On October 5, 2020, City Council approved the Phase I Guaranteed Maximum Price Amendment for early work in the amount of $5,097,758.00.

Phase II Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) negotiations have now been completed and approval is requested for a Guaranteed Maximum Price Amendment to include all above ground concrete, incorporation of design changes and structural steel. With this Amendment, the total Guaranteed Maximum Price is $17,311,737.00.

The substantial completion of the Project is unchanged by this GMP Amendment and will remain as planned for December 2021.

The Phase II GMP Amendment has been reviewed and approved by the Minority & Women Business Enterprise Division for compliance with the City's MWBE program and the Blueprint Initiative.  Barton Malow Builders M/WBE Participation Plan for this contract totals 25.6% and is as follows:

Recommended Action:

Approving Barton Malow Builders Phase II Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) Amendment and authorizing the Chief Procurement Officer to execute this Amendment with Barton Malow Builders, as indicated above, in the total Guaranteed Maximum Price amount of $17,311,737.00, subject to review and approval by the City Attorney’s Office.
