Application to Spirit of Blue for Riot Helmets


The City of Orlando Police Department will apply for funding for approximately 230 Ops Core Riot helmet kits with visors to the Spirit of Blue Foundation. The approximate cost would be $79,301.70.

The Spirit of Blue Foundation looks for funders to purchase equipment for police departments. When a funder is located, they work out details with our department and purchase the equipment needed. 

Fiscal & Efficiency Data: No fiscal impact; expenditure would be provided by Spirit of Blue Foundation.

Recommended Action:

Approving and authorizing Jennifer Keefe, Grants & Management Analyst or Lilian Draisin, Police Planning Administrator, to submit application and details of subsequent award on behalf of the City of Orlando, subject to review and approval by City Council and the Grants Development Supervisor.
