Summary:
The City and the Department of Corrections, "Department", previously entered into a Contract for the provision of inmate labor crews, to assist in maintaining landscape areas throughout the City of Orlando. Based on the success of the program in past years, City staff recommends entering into a new Contract Amendment, extending the program to June 16, 2022, instead of the current termination date of June 16, 2021. The Department provides two, five-person work squads and two corrections officers to supervise them, for forty hours per week. The City pays the salaries and position-related expenses of the assigned correction officers but not the inmate labor. |

Recommended Action:
Approving the Contract and authorizing the Mayor or Mayor Pro Tem to execute same, subject to review and approval by the City Attorney's Office. |
