Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between Orange County Sheriff's Office (OCSO) and the City of Orlando Police Department for Rapid DNA Testing


This MOU will provide the Orlando Police Department Crime Scene Investigators ability to submit DNA samples using the OCSO's ANDE 6C Instrument for rapid DNA testing. This process can greatly improve the speed in which we obtain investigative leads in certain criminal investigations. This process will also assist in building a local database of our most prolific offenders.

Orlando Police Department will incur the cost of chips ($750.00 each) used for the analysis. Funding has been set aside to purchase a total of 20 chips from OCSO who have a contracted rate and will be the most cost-effective route.

Recommended Action:
Approving and authorizing the execution of the Memorandum Of Understanding (MOU) by the Mayor and the City Clerk, subject to review and approval by the City Attorney's Office.
