Summary:

On August 12, 2019, City Council approved a Contract with Wharton-Smith for the Iron Bridge Diffused Aeration System Replacement project, with an estimated expenditure of $1,767,000.00. 

The Project Management Division and Procurement and Contracts Division are now requesting approval of an Amendment to the existing Contract with Wharton-Smith to install anoxic basin invent mixer systems.  The City has purchased the mixer systems and while the basin is drained, this Amendment will allow for the installation of the mixer systems.    

The estimated expenditure of the Amendment is $483,023.27, and the total contract amount including the Amendment and other small change orders will be $2,369,704.74.

The Minority Business Enterprise Division has reviewed the subject procurement and has determined that there are no city-certified M/WBE firms that are able to provide this installation service.

Approval of Amendment to Contract with Wharton-Smith, Inc. and authorize the Chief Procurement Officer to execute an Amendment with Wharton-Smith, Inc., as indicated above, in the estimated amount of $483,023.27, subject to review and approval by the City Attorney’s Office.
