Lease Agreement between the City of Orlando and 4Roots Foundation, Inc.


The Cityof Orlando is developing approximately 100 acres of real property as a public park and tennis center, located south of Princeton Street and east of John Young Parkway, "Property."  Under the terms of the attached Lease Agreement, the City would lease approximately 18 acres of the southern portion of the Property to 4Roots Foundation, Inc., (a non-profit corporation engaged in charitable purposes) for the establishment of an educational farming and agriculture project for community benefit, "Project."  4Roots is solely responsible for construction of the Project and for operation and maintenance.  In compliance with the terms of the deed by which the City acquired the Property, the Lease is at no cost to 4Roots.  In addition, the City will provide Nine Hundred Thousand Dollars ($900,000.00) in reimbursement to 4Roots for certain construction costs related to the $8 million dollar project.

Recommended Action:
Approval of the attached Lease Agreement and authorization for the Mayor or Mayor pro tem to execute same, subject to review and approval by the City Attorney's Office.
