Ordinance 2019-26 amending the Growth Management Plan to change the Future Land Use designation from Office Low Intensity to Neighborhood Activity Center; and changing the zoning designation from Low Intensity Office-Residential to Neighborhood Activity Center for property generally located at the northeast corner of South Kirkman Road and Raleigh Street (5641 Raleigh Street Commercial) (Economic Development)
Summary:

This small scale GMP amendment and rezoning is to change approximately 1.1 acres from Office Low Intensity future land use and O-1 zoning to Neighborhood Activity Center future land use and AC-N zoning.  The change will accommodate retail development, including a drive-through.

On February 19, 2019, the Municipal Planning Board recommended approval of the GMP amendment and rezoning (Case # GMP2018-10025 and ZON2019-10016).  The board also approved an associated master plan and conditional use permit for 8,650 sq. ft. of commercial space and a drive through (MPL2018-10060 and CUP201-10014).

Recommended Action:
Approve the attached ordinance number 2019-26 on first reading and request that the Mayor and City Clerk present the draft ordinance for second reading and public hearing at the next City Council Meeting.
