Summary:
On April 10, 2017, City Council approved award of a contract to GoodSource Staffing Services to provide temporary labor services. The initial Contract term was three (3) years with an option to renew for three (3) additional one year terms. This temporary labor services Contract is utilized by the Public Works Department as well as multiple Divisions throughout the City.
GoodSource Staffing Services (a division of Goodwill Industries of Central Florida) is uniquely established as a rapid re-employment program whose staffing placements consist of approximately 68% homeless. Goodwill Industries is a long-standing member of the Central Florida Continuum of Care, having provided employment services to homeless individuals for more than 17 years. Their programs work within the existing Continuum of Care system in Central Florida and builds upon existing linkages among providers of emergency, transitional and permanent supportive housing (including HUD VASH and Shelter Plus Care vouchers), supportive services, and services to Veterans.
The Solid Waste Division is requesting approval of an Amendment to the Contract with GoodSource Staffing Services to add refuse collection laborers and case-by-case laborers to the currently contracted laborers (General Labor, Clerical, and Customer Service). The estimated annual expenditure will increase by $325,000; from $400,000.00 annually to $725,000.00 annually.
The M/WBE Office has reviewed the subject procurement and has determined that there were no City-certified M/WBE firms that are able to provide subject goods or services. |
