Ordinance 2018-67 Requesting the Planned Development zoning district with the Airport Noise overlay district, in part, and the Planned Development district with the Airport Noise overlay district and the Resource Protection overlay district, in part, for property generally located west of Narcoossee Road, north and east of Boggy Creek Road and south of the Lake Nona planned development (Poitras East Planned Development) (Economic Development)
Summary:

This zoning amendment is to change approximately 1,169.4 acres from No City Zoning to Planned Development zoning district with the Airport Noise overlay district, in part, and Planned Development district with the Airport Noise overlay district and the Resource Protection overlay district, in part.  The change will accommodate a maximum of 2,734 residential units, 100,000 square feet of non-residential floor area, plus a community park area, fire station, and a school.

On September 18, 2018, the Municipal Planning Board recommended approval of the zoning amendment (Case #ZON2017-00011).  The MPB also approved an associated GMP request for new development of 4,800 residential dwelling units and 2,400,000 square feet of commercial uses (Case # GMP2017-00012 and GMP2017-00013) for the entire Poitras Property.

The GMP request will be part of a separate ordinance on this City Council agenda.

Recommended Action:
Approval of the attached ordinance number 2018-67 on first reading and request that the Mayor and City Clerk present the draft ordinance for second reading and public hearing at the next available City Council meeting.
