Summary:
The Florida Department of Transportation Safety Office (FDOT) administers funding for various grant programs that address traffic safety priority areas. As the City continues growing through job growth, school and college expansions, and the thriving tourism and entertainment industry, so too has the volume of vehicular traffic. The increase in traffic volume has resulted in increased traffic violations, specifically speeding and aggressive driving.
The Orlando Police Department will utilize the grant in the amount of $75,000.00 to conduct high-visibility zero-tolerance overtime enforcement operations at locations identified for traffic crashes and/or fatalities related to speed and aggressive driving. |
