Summary:
The City of Orlando, “City”, and Florida Citrus Sports Events, Inc., “FCSE”, propose to construct improvements, “Improvements,” to Lake Lorna Doone Park, adjacent to Camping World Stadium. The Improvements will primarily consist of the following elements: a pathway around the lake, basketball courts, a splash pad, a new playground, a community garden, a pavilion, a fountain in the center of the lake and an overlook along Church Street at the entrance to the Park. The City and FCSE have agreed on a general design for the Improvements and FCSE has agreed to manage the construction. Prior to awarding the contract for construction of the Improvements, the City and FCSE must approve the final set of plans. As part of its supervisory role, City will have access to the Improvements during the term of construction and FCSE will provide proper facilities for such access and observation of the work being performed and also for any inspection or testing. The estimated cost for design, permitting and construction of the Improvements is $8,000,000.00. Under the terms of the attached Agreement, the City would contribute Five Million Dollars ($5,000,000.00) and FCSE would contribute Three Million Dollars ($3,000,000.00). FCSE is currently conducting a fundraising campaign and a portion of its contribution will consist of donations from community partners. The Agreement further describes a protocol for the installation of donor recognition features, including naming certain elements in the Park. |
