Summary:
The Orlando Citywide Pedestrian Signal Grant is for the engineering design of pedestrian signal and sidewalk ramp upgrades at 37 intersections within and the Central Business District and Downtown South Main Street District of Orlando. Improvements to the intersection will include bringing sidewalk ramps and push buttons into compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), adjusting or replacing pedestrian signal heads, and installing accessible pedestrian signal features. This LAP Agreement is necessary to receive reimbursement of grant funding from the Federal Highway Administration through the FDOT. This grant does require a funding match from the City of Orlando. FDOT has indicated that they may request a supplemental agreement to reflect the actual cost of the service if it is less than the original cost estimate. |

Recommended Action:
Authorize the Mayor or Mayor Pro Tem, and the City Clerk to approve and execute the original Local Agency Program agreement and project resolution, subject to review and approval by the City Attorney's Office, and as required by FDOT. Also authorize the Mayor or Mayor Pro Tem and the City Clerk to approve and execute any required Supplemental Local Agency Program Agreements for a lower amount based on actual costs that may be required by FDOT, provided they are reviewed and approved by the City Attorney's Office. Also authorize the City’s Project Manager to request extensions to the LAP Agreement should they be necessary in order to maintain the funding. |
