The Florida Department of Transportation, "FDOT", is constructing improvements to Orange Avenue between Hansel Avenue and Grant Street. In conjunction with FDOT's construction of its road improvements, the City of Orlando and the South Downtown Improvement District, "NID", have requested that FDOT construct and install certain crosswalk, median and lighting improvements along Orange Avenue between Pineloch Avenue and Grant Street, "Local Improvements."

The estimated cost of the Local Improvements is $717,467.00.  The majority of the cost is to be funded by the MetroPlan Transportation Planning organization in the amount of $527,630.00.  The remainder of the project will be funded by the NID in the amount of $189,837.00.  Even though the NID is funding the City's share of the Local Improvements under the Local Funding Agreement, FDOT requires that the City of Orlando be the named party.
