Work Order to Cathcart Construction Company for the Northwest Community Playground Replacement Project, RFQu17-0359

Summary:

A Request for Qualification Statements (RFQu) for Citywide Rapid Response and Minor Projects For Infrastructure & General Grouting And Repair Or Replacement Of Drainage Wells was issued on July 17, 2017. On October 9, 2017, City Council authorized the Chief Procurement Officer to proceed with Contracts with seven firms for Infrastructure and two firms for General Grouting and Repair or Replacement.  Cathcart Construction Company was one of the seven firms for Infrastructure.  The scope of services for Infrastructure have multiple types of work that includes small parks and equipment.  Individual work orders/change order do not exceed $300,000.00 unless they are deemed an emergency.  When there is a project, firms submit a bid for the specific project and the work is awarded to the lowest responsive bidder. 

Public Works requested bids from all of the awarded firms for the Northwest Community Center Playground Replacement project and the lowest responsive bidder was Cathcart Construction Company with a bid amount of $319,720.00.   Public Works is requesting approval to issue a work order/change order to Cathcart Construction Company in the amount of $319,720.00.

Cathcart Construction Company's M/WBE Participation Plan is 1.3% total for this project and is as follows:

 

Central Florida Construction Wall, Inc. MBE $3,400.00 1.1%
JML Advertising, Inc. WBE $500.00 0.2%

Recommended Action:

Approval and authorization for the Chief Procurement Officer to execute a work order/change order with Cathcart Construction Company for the Northwest Community Center Playground Replacement project, in the amount of $319,720, subject to review and approval by the City Attorney's Office.
