Ordinance 2018-40 Amending Ordinance No. 2017-67 Relating to Certificates of Use; Providing a New Implementation Date; Providing for Non-Codification, Correction of Scrivener’s Errors, Severability, and an Effective Date
Summary:

On January 8, 2018, Orlando City Council adopted Ord. 2017-67, establishing a Certificate of Use (CoU) process. That ordinance included an implementation date of October 1, 2018. As staff has undertaken the process of preparing our Economic Development Information System software to accommodate CoUs, it has become evident that it will not be ready in time for October. As such, the present ordinance shifts the implementation date by one year, to October 1, 2019. This will allow sufficient time for readying our software and finalizing implementation.

Recommended Action:
Approve the attached Ordinance No. 2018-40 on first reading and request that the Mayor and City Clerk present the draft ordinance for second reading and public hearing at the next regular City Council meeting.
