Attached is a petition for the voluntary annexation for 1900 Oglesby Avenue.  The subject property is generally located south of Oglesby Avenue, west of Clay Street, north of Crandon Avenue and east of Formosa Avenue, addressed as 1900 Oglesby Avenue.  The site is approximately 0.242 acres.  The subject site currently has the unincorporated Orange County future land use designation of Low Medium Density Residential and is zoned R-2.

The applicant is requesting the City’s future land use designation of Neighborhood Activity Center (GMP2018-10015) and initial zoning of PD to add it to the Calvary Planned Development (ZON2018-10009). The applicant has requested the annexation in order to combine it with the Calvary PD for the future development of a multifamily building in this area. The proposed multifamily requires a GMP amendment for the Calvary PD.  If the amendment is not approved, the site could be developed with uses consistent with the adopted PD. 

The subject property is contiguous to the City limits and is reasonably compact.  If annexed, the property will not create an enclave.

Direct the City Attorney to prepare an annexation ordinance for consideration by City Council and authorize staff to initiate a Growth Management Plan (GMP) amendment and initial zoning for the subject property.
