Summary:
On April 28, 2014, the City approved the Lease of the Loch Haven Neighborhood Center (Center) located at 610 N. Lake Formosa Drive to the Orlando Ballet (Ballet) for its permanent home. The Ballet was required to renovate the existing 11,485 square foot facility and construct additional improvements for a total facility size of approximately 22,000 square feet. During its occupancy and operation of the Center and its renovation/construction planning the Ballet has found that the Center building cannot be renovated to fit its needs. The Ballet has requested to amend the Lease agreement to allow for the demolition of the Center building and construction of a replacement facility of approximately 38,344 square feet. A conceptual drawing of the replacement facility is attached.
On September 3, 2014, Dr. Phillips, INC donated a 5,518 square foot vacant parcel of land located at 2001 Alden Rd, on the western border of the Center, to the City. The parcel will be added to the Ballet’s leased premises. |
Recommended Action:
Approval and authorization for the Mayor/Pro Tem and City Clerk to execute the Amendment, substantially in the form attached, and authorization for the Real Estate Division Manager to extend dates herein, subject to the review and approval of the City Attorney’s Office.
