Employment Agreement with Julio Alamo Figueroa as Construction Manager with the Project Management Division

Summary:
The Project Management Division is responsible for providing construction management and inspection services on City infrastructure projects. Current full time staff members are fully committed to projects already under construction. An additional $25 million worth of upcoming construction projects will require staffing for inspection services on a short term (2 year) basis. Public Works received authorization to create additional City contract Construction Manager positions in lieu of using more costly outside consultants. Mr. Figueroa will fill one Construction Manager position. These positions are included and funded in the FY 2018 and FY 2020 budgets as full-time, contract positions. This agreement is for a two-year period, beginning on or about February 26, 2018 and ending February 25, 2020.

Fiscal & Efficiency Data: Cost is budgeted in Cost Center CIP0004_C, Project Management Division.

Recommended Action:
Authorize the Mayor to execute the subject agreement with Julio Alamo Figueroa, Construction Manager as noted above and subject to review and approval of the City Attorney's Office.
