Subject:
A Temporary Use Permit for a Temporary Parking Lot for the Downtown Recreation Center

Summary:

The Downtown Recreation Center has need for additional parking resources due to the construction of the UCF Downtown Campus, and the reconfiguration of properties as the Creative Village develops.  The balance of existing parking for the Center is being lost to the UCF Downtown Campus.  As such, there is a need to temporarily accommodate a parking lot for the Downtown Recreation Center prior to its anticipated move to the Grand Avenue School in the future.

As such, the Transportation Engineering Division has collaborated on a design for a 30-space temporary parking lot at the northwest corner of Parramore Avenue and Bentley Street (322 N. Parramore Avenue).  An attached memo goes into more specific details, and a conceptual design for the lot is also attached for the Council's consideration and approval.

Fiscal & Efficiency Data: N/A

Recommended Action:
Approving a Temporary Use Permit for an approximate 30-space interim parking lot at 322 N. Parramore Avenue for a period of two years, and authorizing the Planning Official to extend the permit for two additional one-year terms.
