Summary:

Chief Mina will begin the presentation with some talking points about Domestic Violence Awareness Month.

The Orlando Police Department’s Domestic Violence Response Team’s victim focused approach continues to serve as a model for all agencies. I can proudly state that the Orlando Police Department’s policies have been recognized by the Orange County Commission on Domestic Violence and Child Abuse as a best practice to be adopted by all local law enforcement agencies.

Chief will introduce Michelle Sperzel, the CEO of Harbor House of Central Florida who will give some brief comments (approx. 90 seconds) and then turns it back to Chief Mina who will request Mayor Dyer to read the proclamation.

Recommended Action:
Mayor reads the proclamation and invites the victim services partners present down for a photograph.
