FY 2017 Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) Local Program Application - Radios

Summary:
The Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) is a formula grant that provides funding for local initiatives, technical assistance, training, personnel, supplies, contractual support and information systems to support law enforcement programs. The City of Orlando Police Department (OPD) will apply for $174,067.00 for FY 2017. This grant will be used to replace approximately 26 portable radios that are due for replacement. The State of Florida Department of Management Services in their Public Safety Radio Communications Plan recommends replacement of radios after 6 years

Fiscal & Efficiency Data: To be supplied once grant is received.

Recommended Action:
Approval of the grant application by City Council and execution of signature memo by Mayor, subject to review by the City Attorney's Office and the Grant Development Division.
