Summary:

Orlando Fire Department (OFD) Bomb Squad Division is requesting to purchase one ANDROS FX™ Unmanned Ground Vehicle, related options, service and training from REMOTEC, Inc., a subsidiary of Northrop Grumman Systems Corporation of Clinton, Tennessee, in the amount of $300,036.00.

ROMOTEC, Inc., is the sole manufacturer and distributor of ANDROS FX™ line of hazardous duty robots.  REMOTEC does not have product dealers or resellers within the United States.  All parts are sold and all maintenance is performed directly from REMOTEC’s facility located in Clinton, Tennessee.

M/WBE is not applicable.

Recommended Action:

Approval of award to REMOTEC, Inc. and authorize the Chief Procurement Officer to enter into an agreement with REMOTEC, Inc. as indicated above in the estimated amount of $300,036.00 subject to review and approval by the City Attorney’s Office.
