Summary:
Thornton Park District, Inc., "Thornton Park" is a non-profit corporation established as part of a City-wide program with the goal of developing a stronger and more vibrant neighborhood commercial district in the area of Robinson Street, Summerlin Avenue and Central Boulevard. To help accomplish this goal, Thornton Park has proposed a project to install artwork on designated storm drains in the District area. (The City previously approved a similar Agreement with Thornton Park on August 15, 2016 under which Thornton Park installed artwork on other stormwater drains.) The attached Agreement provides that the City must approve the artwork installed on each storm drain and also delineates the procedure for artwork installation in order to ensure the safety of the artist and the functioning of the storm drain. |
