Summary:

On December 5, 2016, City Council approved the contract with Sweetwater Environmental, Inc. for Transport of Wastewater Biosolids for Land Application. The initial term is three (3) years with an option to renew for two (2) additional one (1) year terms. The contract is currently used for hauling, delivery and spreading of alkaline (lime) stabilized biosolids from Iron Bridge Regional Water Reclamation Facility.

The Water Reclamation Division is now requesting approval of an Amendment to the Contract with Sweetwater Environmental Services, Inc. to haul and deliver the alkaline registered biosolids fertilizer product from Water Conserv II Water Reclamation Facility. The contract value will increase $245,000 annually, from $500,000.00 to $745,000.00 per year.  The Procurement and Contracts Division and Water Reclamation Division have evaluated the request and are recommending approval.

Sweetwater Environmental, Inc. has committed to continuing their M/WBE Participation Plan  as follows:

Recommended Action:
Authorize the Chief Procurement Officer to amend the contract with Sweetwater Environmental, Inc., as indicated above, subject to review and approval by the City Attorney’s Office.
