Subject:
Agreement with Orlando Housing Authority for Citrus Square Recreation Site

Summary:

In 1995, the City of Orlando and the Orlando Housing Authority (OHA) entered into an Agreement to allow the City's Recreation Division to provide recreational and educational after school and summer programs for children residing in OHA's Citrus Square apartment complex, in a building owned by OHA and located within the complex.

These programs improve educational achievement, health and quality of life of children and families residing at Citrus Square, and both the City and OHA wish for them to continue.

By approving the attached Agreement, the City of Orlando will be able to continue the use of the OHA Citrus Square site for the same purposes, and under the same terms and conditions, as has been the case since 1995.

The cost of the City's program at Citrus Square has been included in the department's budget since 1995; no additional funding is required as a result of this Agreement.

Fiscal & Efficiency Data: No new fiscal impact.

Recommended Action:
Approve, and authorize the Mayor to sign, the attached Amended and Restated Agreement for Facility Use Between the City of Orlando and the Orlando Housing Authority, to continue the City's use of the Citrus Square site.
