Summary:

On April 11, 2011, City Council approved the award of a contract with SecurAmerica, LLC to provide armed and unarmed security guard services where needed. The current contract does not have additional renewal terms and a solicitation will be issued soon resulting in a new contract.

To provide continuity of this critical service, Parking Division (primary user) and Procurement and Contracts Division are requesting that the contract be extended for an additional three (3) months to July 31, 2017.  This extension will allow time to complete the solicitation process and contract execution. SecurAmerica, LLC has agreed to extend the contract at the existing rates and charges. The estimated expenditure for the extension is $212,520.00.

SecurAmerica, LLC agrees to continue to meet the M/WBE goals during the contract extension period.

Recommended Action:

Authorize the Chief Procurement Officer to execute an Amendment to extend the contract with SecurAmerica, LLC, of Atlanta, GA, as indicated above, subject to review and approval by the City Attorney's Office.
