Ordinance No. 2017-5, designating the house located at 3206 Greens Avenue as a City of Orlando Historic Landmark (Economic Development)

Summary:

On June 15, 2016, Dr. Carl Dann III applied to the City of Orlando to designate certain real property belonging to himself as an Orlando Historic Landmark located at 3206 Greens Avenue, within the City Limits. The property was designed by noted local architect Sam Stotlz and constructed in 1935. The structure is significant for the history, culture, integrity of location, design, materials and association with significant people in Orlando's past.  3206 Greens Avenue meets the criteria A, B, and C in Section 65.720 in Orlando City Code.

At its regular meeting of September 7, 2016, the City of Orlando Historic Preservation Board (the "HPB") held a public hearing on the request of the Applicant to designate the Property as an Orlando Historic Landmark, and after a review of the documented evidence and upon Consideration of the criteria provided by Section 65.720, Orlando City Code, the HPB recommended by unamimous voice vote that the Orlando City Council designate the property as an Orlando Historic Landmark because the Property meets Criteria A, B, and C.

At its regular meeting of November 15, 2016, the City of Orlando Municipal Planning Board (the "MPB") held a public hearing on the request of the Applicant to designate the Property as an Orlando Historic Landmark, and after a review of the documented evidence and upon Consideration of the criteria provided by Section 65.720, Orlando City Code, the MPB recommended by unanimous voice vote that the Orlando City Council designate the property as an Orlando Historic Landmark.
