The Orlando Fire Department Take Heart Orlando program, in partnership with five other local fire departments, trained an unprecedented 28,000 high school students in the Orange County Public School system. OCPS is the11th largest school district in the United States. The trainings in Orlando took place at Boone, Dr. Phillips, Lake Nona, Jones and Edgewater High Schools on September 29, 2016, with Dr. Phillips High School being the largest with 1,500 students trained. Orlando Fire Department’s Take Heart Program has trained more than 79,000 citizens over the past three years and has more than 7,500 users on Pulse Point.
