Summary:
On May 18, 2015, the City and the Florida Department of Transportation entered into a Local Agency Program agreement for the construction of Colonial Drive (SR 50) Pedestrian Overpass. Funding from the United States Department of Transportation was provided in the amount of $9,190,531 for CEI Services and construction.
When the construction bid for Design-Build Services was awarded, the previously awarded LAP amount was short $358,971.00, the amount needed to fully fund the construction portion. The City was able to secure a Supplemental Agreement with the Florida Department of Transportation for that amount. The revised awarded amount for CEI Services and construction totals $9,549,502.00.
The project consists of the design and construction of a pedestrian overpass over West Colonial Drive (SR 50), over a portion of I-4 Right of Way, and the Central Florida Rail Corridor, including approach ramps and pedestrian trails. When complete, this project will provide connectivity to Gertrude’s Walk and the Dinky Line (Orlando Urban Trail). The project length is approximately 0.35 miles. |
