Summary:
Ordinance No. 2016-95 is an ordinance approving the sign package for the Orlando City Soccer Stadium.
The Orlando City Soccer Stadium, like Camping World Stadium, the Amway Center and the Dr. Phillips Center of Performing Arts has been determined to be a regional facility that serves the greater metropolitan area and/or the tourist corridor. Regional facilities may be publicly or privately owned.
The City Council may approve both on-site and off-site signage for such regional facilities through an ordinance. The ordinance shall include a determination by the Director of Planning and Development that: (1) the facility is a regional landmark; (2) such signage fosters the health, safety, and welfare by promoting safe and efficient public access to the regional facility; and (3) such signage shall not have a negative impact on surrounding land uses.
The ordinance exhibits include the Planning Official Determination approving the stadium classification as a regional facility and the sign package. The Downtown Appearance Review Board approval of the stadium sign package and the actual sign package for the stadium are also included in the ordinance exhibits.
City Council approved this ordinance on first reading on Dec. 5, 2016. |
