Employment Agreement - Sierra Newhouse, After-School All-Stars Coordinator

Summary:

This item authorizes a two year contract with Ms. Sierra Newhouse  to serve as After-School All-Stars (ASAS) Coordinator, responsible for managing all ASAS AmeriCorps grant projects.

In 2013-2014, Ms. Newhouse began working for ASAS as a Team Lead for Orlando Partnership for School Success (O-PASS/AmeriCorps) at Lee Middle School. In 2014-2015, she was promoted to serve as the O-PASS Project Coordinator, overseeing the program at middle schools citywide.

By approving the attached contract, Ms. Newhouse's responsibilities will be expanded so that she will now oversee all ASAS AmeriCorps programs, including O-PASS (at city middle schools) and Operation AmeriCorps (at city high schools).

The City's Operation AmeriCorps grant will fully fund Ms. Newhouse's contract.

Recommended Action:
Approve the attached Employment Agreement for Sierra Newhouse and authorize signature by the Mayor/Mayor Pro Tem and City Clerk, subject to satisfactory review by the City Attorney's Office.
