The attached ordinance will annex the subject property, assign the Industrial future land use designation and initial zoning of I-G/W for property located at 900 Mercy Drive, which located north of W. Colonial Drive, west of Mercy Drive and south and east of Fairvilla Road. The property is approximately 1.329 acres and is currently developed with and is planned to remain as a parking lot. The subject property is contiguous to the City limits and is reasonably compact. If annexed, the property will not create an enclave.
The Municipal Planning Board recommended approval of the annexation (ANX2016-00008), the GMP amendment to assign the Industrial future land use designation (GMP2016-00011) and the initial zoning of I-G/W (ZON2016-00012) on July 19, 2016. The first reading of this ordinance was approved on October 24, 2016.
