Award of Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE), Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) - Emergency Fund, Agency Response to Pulse Nightclub (Subgrant #2017-JAGE-ORAN-2-E8-007).

Summary:

The City of Orlando, Orlando Police Department has been approved to receive the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE)-Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) - Emergency Fund sub-award in the amount of $316,708.00.

The sub-award funds will be utilized towards overtime expenses incurred during the Pulse incident that occurred on June 12, 2016.

Recommended Action:
Approval and acceptance of the grant contract award by City Council and approval for execution of the grant agreement by the Mayor and Chief of Police, subject to review by the City Attorney's Office and the Grants Development Division.
