Petition for Voluntary Annexation: 1880 Oglesby Avenue (ANX2016-00010)

Summary:

Attached is a petition for the voluntary annexation for 1880 Oglesby Avenue.  The subject property is generally located west of Clay Street, east of Formosa Avenue and south of Oglesby Avenue and is approximately 0.242 acres.  The subject site currently has the unincorporated Orange County future land use designation of Low Medium Density Residential and is zoned R-2.

This property is part of the Calvary Church redevelopment and the applicant is requesting the City’s future land use designations of Neighborhood Activity Center (GMP2016-00018) and initial zoning of PD (ZON2016-00022).  The subject property is contiguous to the City limits and is reasonably compact.  If annexed, the property will not create an enclave.

Fiscal & Efficiency Data:

The fiscal impact statement will be submitted with the ordinance for annexation, pending City Council’s acceptance of this petition for annexation.

Recommended Action:

Direct the City Attorney to prepare an annexation ordinance for consideration by City Council and authorize staff to initiate a Growth Management Plan (GMP) amendment and initial zoning for the subject property.
