Summary:

Proposed ordinance #2016-76 would amend the boundaries of the Boggy Creek Improvement District (the "district"). The proposed new boundaries would result in a net addition of approximately 41 acres of land to the district. The district is currently about 1,085 acres in size. 

The district is a "Community Development District" (a "CDD"). CDDs are special purpose units of local government that plan, finance, construct, and maintain public infrastructure such as roads, stormwater utilities, landscaping, and other common facilities. CDDs are typically created by the applicable city or county government, but are governed by a board of supervisors elected by property owners in the CDD.

This proposed ordinance is requested by the board of supervisors of the Boggy Creek district and is made for the purpose of aligning the district's boundaries with new development in Lake Nona. The Boggy Creek district is generally located north of the Osceola County border, east of Boggy Creek Road, south of Orlando International Airport, and west of Narcoossee Road.
