Mental Illness and Mental Health Awareness Week

Summary:
The City of Orlando strongly supports the efforts of the Mental Health Association of Central Florida and National Alliance for Mentally Ill of Greater Orlando and their mission of providing compassionate care, advocacy and assistance to people with mental illnesses.  Mayor Dyer will call on Marcia Hope Goodwin, the City's Chief Service Officer and Director of Community Affairs and Human Relations, to introduce Candice Crawford, CEO of the Mental Health Association of Central Florida, and Eric Welch, Executive Director of NAMIGO, for a brief overview.  After presenting the proclamations, Mayor Dyer will take a photo with Ms. Crawford, Mr. Welch and agency supporters.

Recommended Action:
Proclaim the week of October 2nd through October 8th, 2016 as Mental Illness Awareness Month in the City of Orlando.
