Contract with Motorola Solutions, Inc. for Motorola 800 MHz Radio Maintenance, Repairs and Upgrade, S16-0406.

Summary:

On September 12, 2005, City Council approved the purchase of Motorola equipment and services for Orlando Police Department and Orlando Fire Department.  On August 29, 2011, City Council authorized the standardization for Motorola equipment and services.  The current contracts will expire on September 30, 2016.

 

Orlando Police Department and Orlando Fire Department are requesting to continue with a contract for Motorola 800 MHz radio maintenance, services and upgrade to Motorola ASTRO 25 systems through Motorola Solutions of Schaumburg, Illinois. The initial contract term is six (6) years with no renewal terms.  The total contract amount is estimated at $7,167,750 for the six (6) year term.  

 

No City Certified M/WBE suppliers are registered for this commodity.

Recommended Action:
Approval of award to Motorola Solutions, Inc. and authorize the Chief Procurement Officer to enter into an agreement with Motorola Solutions, Inc.as indicated above in the amount of $7,167,750, subject to review and approval by the City Attorney’s Office.
