Initiation of the 2017 Winter Cycle of Growth Management Plan Amendments (Economic Development)
Summary:

Staff is requesting approval to initiate Growth Management Plan (GMP) amendments for the 2017 Winter Cycle of amendments. Once initiated, the City Planning Division will prepare staff reports and schedule each case for review by the Municipal Planning Board. The amendments will then be scheduled for consideration by City Council at a public hearing (first reading of the ordinance) in December 2016, with adoption (second reading) of the amendments in February of 2017.  

The proposed City-initiated Growth Management Plan (GMP) amendments are as follows:

Historic Preservation Element

Amend Historic Preservation Element Figure HP-2 to reflect recent changes in landmark status for various sites.

Future Land Use Element

Add new Future Land Use Subarea Policy S.6.15 to further implement the Parramore Comprehensive Neighborhood Plan - Community Vision Plan by encouraging residential redevelopment in the area surrounding the PS-8 Community School.
