Ordinance No. 2016-54 changes the future land use to Public/Recreational/Institutional, revises Subarea Policy S.7.4, and rezones to P/T/AN for property located north of South St, east of Eola Dr, and south of Jackson St (Constitution Green) (Economic Development)
Summary:

Ordinance No. 2016-54 changes the future land use designation for a 1.87 acre property located north of E South St, east of S Eola Dr, south of E Jackson St, and west of S Summerlin Ave, from Residential High Intensity and Residential Medium Intensity to Public, Recreational and Institutional. In addition, this ordinance revises Subarea Policy S.7.4 so that the policy's redevelopment recommendations exclude the subject property. Finally, this ordinance changes the subject property's zoning designation from H/T/AN (Holding District, with Traditional City and Aircraft Noise Overlay) to P/T/AN (Public Use District, with Traditional City and Aircraft Noise Overlay). This ordinance applies to Constitution Green, which is already in operation as a park, and the changes will ensure that it remains a public benefit use in the future. 

The Municipal Planning Board recommended approval of these proposed changes (GMP2016-00004 & ZON2016-00004) on May 17, 2016.

Recommended Action:

Adopt the attached ordinance number 2016-54 and authorize the Mayor and the City Clerk or Mayor Pro Tempore and City Clerk to execute on behalf of the City upon final review and approval by the City Attorney.
