Summary:
GOAA has requested City Council approval of the following items approved by GOAA at its June 15, 2016 meeting:
Consent Agenda Item B - Disposal of Surplus Property that is no longer necessary, useful or profitable in the operation of the airport system. A list of the property is attached.
Consent Agenda Item O - Recommendation to Amend Preferential Use Lease Agreement with SORT, LLC for the Remote Screening Facility (RSF) at OIA. The lease with SORT is amended to provide that SORT cannot charge baggage processing fees to GOAA or any third party for processing excess baggage checked at the North Terminal Complex. In exchange the lease payment to GOAA is reduced to $480,000 and GOAA assumes the responsibility for baggage system maintenance at the RSF estimated to be $300,000. The RSF is used consistently for processing baggage overflow from the main terminal as well as remote baggage check in. This amendment also provides for an additional five-year option that if exercised would extend the agreement to September 30, 2025. City Council approval is requested since this is a lease with a term in excess of 10 years.
New Business Item A - Extension of Terms with Concessions in the North Terminal Complex. This will extend the terms of concessions contracts that expire between 2017 and 2022 in order to appropriately address the impact the construction in the NTC will have on convenience and customer service to the users of the facilities plus the construction to the south. City Council approval is requested since such extensions will increase the overall term to over 10 years.
