Ordinance No. 2016-13 annexes property located south of E. Pineloch Avenue, west of Center Street, north of Butler Drive and east of S. Orange Avenue and assigns AC-2 and AC-2/SP zoning (South Gate). (Economic Development)
Summary:

The attached ordinance will annex property located south of E. Pineloch Avenue, west of Center Street, north of Butler Drive and east of S. Orange Avenue which is approximately 10.678 acres (South Gate).  The ordinance will also assign AC-2 zoning to the annexed property and rezones an adjacent parcel from MU-1/SP to AC-2/SP on a total of 11.391 acres.  The property is currently developed with mobile home residential areas, single family homes and retail.

The Municipal Planning Board recommended approval of the annexation (ANX2015-00022), the GMP amendment to assign Urban Activity Center (GMP2015-00042), a new subarea policy (GMP2015-00043) and associated zoning of AC-2 and AC-2/SP (ZON2015-00038) on November 17, 2015.  The GMP amendments are large scale amendments and are contained in a separate ordinance, Ordinance 2016-14.  The first reading of the annexation ordinance was heard on May 9, 2016.

Recommended Action:

Adopt the attached ordinance number 2016-13 and authorize the Mayor and City Clerk or Mayor Pro Tempore and City Clerk to execute on behalf of the City upon its final review and approval by the City Attorney.
