Summary:
The Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) is a formula grant that provides funding for local initiatives, technical assistance, training, personnel, equipment, supplies, contractual support and information systems to support law enforcement programs. The City of Orlando Police Department (OPD) has been allocated $184,662 for FY 2016. OPD plans to use this grant to replace approximately 36 portable radios that are due for replacement. The State of Florida Department of Management Services in their Public Safety Radio Communications Plan recommends replacement of radios after 6 years. |

Recommended Action:
Approval of the grant application by City Council and execution of signature memo by Mayor, Subject to review by the City Attorney's Office and the Grant Development Supervisor. |
