The attached ordinance will abandon approximately 1.15 acres of right-of-way comprising (1) a segment of Federal Street, generally located north of West Livingston Street, east of North Westmoreland Drive, south of West Amelia Street, and west of North Parramore Avenue (by itself comprising approximately 0.52 acres of land, being more precisely identified by the metes and bounds description and depicted by the sketch of description attached to this ordinance asExhibit A), and (2) a segment of Otey Place, generally located north of West Livingston Street, east of North Westmorland Drive, south of West Amelia Street, and west of North Parramore Avenue (by itself comprising approximately 0.58 acres of land, being more precisely identified by the metes and bounds description and depicted by the sketch of description attached to this ordinance asExhibit B).The abandonments are necessary in order to facilitate the development of the Parramore PS-8 Community School.

The abandonment case went before the Municipal Planning Board on October 20, 2015. Ordinance number 2016-4  was first read at the May 9, 2016 City Council meeting.
