Ordinance No. 2016-5 Annexing, Assigning the Future Land Uses of Industrial and Residential Low Intensity and designating Industrial-Commercial (I-C) and One Family Residential (R-1) Zoning Districts with the Aircraft Noise (/AN) Overlay for property generally located North of Daubert St., East of Maltby Ave., South of Roush Ave., and West of Jamajo Blvd. (Daubert St. and Lake Baldwin Lane; Economic Development)


The attached ordinance will annex, assign future land use and zoning to property generally located on the north-side of Daubert Street, south of Roush Avenue and east of Maltby Avenue. The subject area includes a portion of Lake Baldwin Lane and is comprised of +/-1.88 acres.  Under City ownership, the eastern portion is comprised of a City retention pond, while the western portion is undeveloped.  Annexation is being requested in order for the subject site to be brought into the City.   If annexed, the property will not create an enclave.

On October 20, 2015, the Municipal Planning Board (MPB) recommended approval of the annexation (ANX2015-00012), the GMP amendment to assign Industrial and Residential Low Intensity future land use designations (GMP2015-00027), and assign R-1 and I-C zoning districts with the Aircraft Noise (/AN) overlays (ZON2015-00024).

The ordinance first reading was accepted on January 25, 2016.

Recommended Action:

Adopt the attached Ordinance 2016-5 and authorize the Mayor and City Clerk or Mayor Pro Tempore and City Clerk to execute on behalf of the City upon final review and approval by the City Attorney.
