Summary:
During the years of 1959 to 1975, United States combat troops were involved in fighting in the Vietnam War. During those years more than 58,000 Americans losttheir lives and more than 300,000 U.S. soldiers were wounded.Since 2007, both the U.S. Congress and U.S. Senate have passed resolutions proclaiming March 30 as "National Welcome Home Vietnam Veterans Day."
Mayor Dyer will call on Dave Arnott, who provides staff support to the Mayor's Veterans Advisory Council, to provide a brief overview of "Welcome Home Vietnam Veterans Day." Mayor Dyer will read the proclamation and will invite Vietnam veterans, his Veterans Advisory Council and all veterans for a photograph. |
