Summary:
Williams Company is constructing a Pre-k thru 8th grade public school for the Orange County School Board in Parrarmore near the site of future Creative Village. In need of parking for its contractors, agents and employees, Williams Company proposes to utilize a portion of a surface parking lot located in the vicinity of the school site, in the City’s Centroplex Parking lot. The parking lot was previously utilized for events taking place in the former Amway Arena until it was demolished. Since the parking lot is no longer being utilized it is available and fits Williams Company’s parking needs. City staff proposes to license the use of the lot to Williams Company as detailed in the attached Parking License Agreement (Agreement).
Williams Company will pay a fee of $2,500 per month and will secure, insure and maintain the licensed space. The term of the Agreement will be 12 months beginning March 1, 2016 and ending February 28, 2017. The term may be extended upon mutual agreement for six (6) additional terms of one (1) month each. Either party may terminate the agreement upon thirty (30) days prior written notice. |
Recommended Action:
Approval and authorization for the Mayor/Pro Tem and City Clerk to execute the Agreement, substantially in the form attached, and approval and authorization, without further City Council approval, for the Real Estate Division Manager to execute the additional extension options referenced herein, so long as such approvals are in conformance with the terms and conditions of the Agreement, all subject to the review and approval of the City Attorney's Office. |
