Subject:Ordinance 2016-20 Amending the Growth Management Plan to Change the Future Land Use Designation from Conservation to Urban Village and Rezoning from C/AN to PD/AN for property located to the southeast of the intersection of Humboldt Drive and Laureate Boulevard (Lake Nona Cell Tower) (Economic Development)
Summary:

The attached ordinance will amend the Growth Management Plan by changing the future land use designation from Conservation to Urban Village and rezoning from C/AN to PD/AN for approximately 0.19 acres located to the southeast of the intersection of Humboldt Drive and Laureate Boulevard. The ordinance also amends the Lake Nona PD to add communication towers as a permitted use in the Urban Village future land use designation.

The Municipal Planning Board recommended approval the GMP amendment (Case #GMP2015-00026) and PD zoning (Case #ZON2015-00023) on September 15, 2015.  The property is currently vacant.  The proposed amendments will accommodate the development of a new communication tower.

The first reading of this ordinance was on the January 25, 2016 Council Agenda.

Recommended Action:

Adopt the attached ordinance number 2016-20 and authorize the Mayor and City Clerk or Mayor Pro Tempore and City Clerk to execute on behalf of the City upon final review and approval by the City Attorney.
