| | | | | | | | Subject: | Application for FY 2016-2017 Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) Highway Safety Grant-Concept Paper for Orlando Police DUI Enforcement Team | Summary: | The Orlando Police Department will request $106,155 in grant funds to be used to fund overtime for officers on the DUI Enforcement Team. The objective of this team is to efficiently and safely remove suspected DUI offenders and traffic violators from the highways by mobile, high visibility traffic enforcement tactics. The Team consists of specially trained officers who conduct roving patrol operations and participate in multi-agency saturation patrols. Funds will also be used to purchase a breath alcohol testing device.
